Moonlight

"But like love
the archers
are blind

Upon the green night,
the piercing saetas
leave traces of warm
lily.

The keel of the moon
breaks through purple clouds
and their quivers
fill with dew.

Ay, but like love
the archers
are blind!"

Garcia Lorca

“Metaphors are dangerous. Love begins with a metaphor. Which is to say, love begins at the point when a woman enters her first word into our poetic memory.”

Green Tea

"My shadow glides in silence

over the watercourse.

On account of my shadow

the frogs are deprived of stars.

The shadow sends my body

reflections of quiet things.

My shadow moves like a huge

violet-colored mosquito.

A hundred crickets are trying

to gild the glow of the reeds.

A glow arises in my breast,

the one mirrored in the water."

Federico Garcia Lorca
